Neighbors in the neighborhood known as La Emilia in City Bell expressed concern and called for an increased police presence after a family suffered two robberies in just three days despite filing reports.
The events occurred around 136 bis and 472 streets. According to the victims, the first theft was recorded on December 26, when criminals stole a jug that powered a power generator in the house. However, the incident was repeated on December 29 when the same or other thieves returned and directly took the generator and removed it from the location on foot.
After both incidents, the family filed a criminal complaint with the 10th City Bell Police Station and provided video images showing the perpetrators of the robbery moving the stolen items on public streets.
According to neighbors, police told them they were overwhelmed by the wave of robberies sweeping the area. The repetition of criminal acts sparked unease and anger among frontline members who claim to be fed up with the authorities’ lack of response and concrete action.
Faced with this scenario, residents of La Emilia once again called for increased police presence, preventive patrols and urgent security measures to prevent a repeat of the events and ensure calm in the neighborhood.
