Palma, December 14 (EFE). – A 7-year-old girl died and her mother and grandmother were injured this Sunday in Palma after a driver ran her over after getting on the sidewalk. The reasons for this are still being investigated. However, initial information suggests that the man had lost control of the car.
Municipal sources told EFE that the events occurred in the morning in the Coll d’en Rabassa district, near a well-known butcher shop, when the driver climbed onto the sidewalk and ran over them.
As a result of the events, a girl died and two other people, who are the mother and grandmother of the deceased minor, were injured.
The almost 50-year-old driver, whose alcohol test came back negative, was uninjured but was taken to hospital to undergo several tests.
Although the causes of the event are not yet clear, initial information suggests that he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to climb onto the sidewalk.
Members of SAMU 061, as well as the local Palma police and national police investigating the events, traveled to the scene.
In addition, a team of 112 psychologists have traveled to help the relatives of the girl who lost her life. EFE
