The internal part of a house collapsed in the early hours of Monday (8), in Catete, south of Rio de Janeiro, and injured at least ten residents. Firefighters are still on site and searching for possible victims.
The collapse occurred around 4 a.m. at the property, located at Rua Tavares Bastos. According to the operational center of Rio City Hall, the road is closed at Rua Bento de Lisboa.
According to residents, the interior part collapsed, although the facade remained intact. Monday morning, some of them were sitting on the sidewalk, still afraid of what had happened. The injured were transported to area hospitals.
In addition to the firefighters, teams from Civil Protection and the CET (Traffic Engineering Company) are on site.
