The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, showed this Friday a part of the Moncloa Palace, called the Clock Room, in a video broadcast by the TikTok platform in which he registered “in the Isabel Preysler plan” to bring the headquarters of the Executive closer to citizens.
Dressed in a suit and vest, but without a tie, Sánchez announces that he is going to take “a little ‘house tour’ (a guided tour in social media jargon) of the Moncloa Palace in the style of Isabel Preysler” and points out the Clock Room, so called because it is presided over by a wind-up clock.
The head of the Executive says that in the place shown, the former presidents Adolfo Suárez and Felipe González presided over their Councils of Ministers, until the socialists built what is today known as the Councils building. “A lot happened here in the early days of democracy,” he says, and he encourages viewers to look for photos from that era.
Sánchez ends the video hoping that citizens will “like it” and asking for “feedback.” If the response is positive, they will be encouraged to show other parts of La Moncloa, he concludes.
