The results of yet another feminicide shocked the Campinas region, inside São Paulo, this Wednesday (10). A woman was stabbed to death by her husband, who then committed suicide.
The couple had been together for six years and had a one-year-old son.
The crime occurred on Rua Professora Hermínia Ricci, in the Jardim São Marcos. According to police records, Andreza Silva Ferreira, 33, was found by military police with at least 15 stab wounds, including one stuck in the head.
The Samu (Mobile Emergency Care Service) was called, but the death was pronounced on the spot.
According to the Prime Minister, the family said the fights and violence from Alex de Oliveira Junior, 29, were constant.
The day before the crime, Andreza took Junior’s belongings out of the house. On Wednesday, however, according to the Prime Minister, the husband returned home to try to repair the relationship. When Andreza did not accept it, he attacked her with several blows.
The Prime Minister confirmed that there was a history of violence and that she had been called to the scene several times to intervene, and that Junior had previously been taken to the police station due to the attacks. He is a drug and alcohol addict, according to the company.
According to the SSP (Secretariat of Public Security), the case was registered as feminicide and total suicide at the 1st DDM (Women’s Defense Police Station) of Campinas. Further details will be withheld due to the nature of the incident.
