A video that has been circulating on Whatsapp in recent days has attracted the attention of allies of the national president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab, regarding the electoral intentions of the leader, who also serves as Secretary of Institutional Relations in the government of Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) in São Paulo.
The content is an animation in which Kassab appears hugging animals, while narration with a child’s voice recalls that he was responsible for the creation of the “first public hospital for pets in Brazil”, in reference to the unit built in the Tatuapé neighborhood, in the eastern zone of the capital, in 2012, during his term as mayor of São Paulo.

“Did you know? When Kassab was mayor of São Paulo, he created the first public pet hospital in Brazil. Did you know? Now you know,” the video says.
The PSD president is considered a possible candidate for the government of São Paulo if Tarcísio leaves to run for the presidency of the Republic. If the governor’s path runs through re-election, Kassab intends to run for vice president.
Allies consulted by the report interpret the video as an indication of Kassab’s intention to run in next year’s elections. One of the supporters said that there were people from the former mayor’s “hard core” behind this initiative.
At MetropolisesKassab said he did not know the origin of the video.
“I don’t know where he comes from. Probably a pre-candidate whose flag defends the animal cause. He remembers the public hospital I went to. A relative who received it and sent it to me,” he said.
