The Sesc Ginástico Theater will host, from January 8, 2026, the musical “The paradise of Bibi Ferreira”a unique montage that pays homage to the trajectory of one of the greatest Brazilian artists. The show is part of the special program for the reopening of the recently modernized space, which marked the career of the actress, singer and director: it was on this stage, in 1983, that Bibi produced and starred in the super production “Piaf”, one of her greatest successes, which remained on display for a year and marked the history of the theater.
- From R$15: the solos of Fernanda Montenegro and Andréa Beltrão reopen the Teatro Sesc Ginástico
- Beginning: Thiago Soares presents the first show of his dance company
With a text by Gabriel Chalita and a direction by Gustavo Barchilon (who directed musical productions such as “Funny Girl” and “Sponge Bob”), the play brings together the actresses Giulia Nadruz, Bárbara Sut, Luísa Vianna and Fernanda Biancamano, who embody different facets of the artist, in a stage play that mixes memory, music and identity. The dramaturgy combines songs in several languages, extracts from shows, personal reflections and moments that marked the career of the lady of Brazilian theater.
The debut is part of the new phase of Ginástico, which will reopen in December after a modernization process including new seats, acoustic improvements, renewed lighting and accessibility adaptations. The space once again plays a central role in the Rio scene, with a program that also includes Fernanda Montenegro (on December 13 and 14, with a solo “Fernanda Montenegro reads Simone de Beauvoir”), Andréa Beltrão (who performs in the acclaimed monologue “Lady Tempestade” on December 20 and 21) and a special concert for the 80th birthday of Wagner Tiso.
