Madrid, December 5 (European Press) –
At least one Palestinian was martyred today, Friday, in a new attack carried out by the Israeli army against Gaza City, located north of the Strip, despite the ceasefire in effect since October 10 following the agreement between the Israeli government and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to implement the first phase of the American proposal for the Strip.
Local sources told the Palestinian Wafa Agency that the occupation forces opened fire on a group of citizens in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City, killing one person and wounding dozens, some of whom are in critical condition. It is not unlikely that the death toll will rise in the coming hours.
On Thursday, Hamas accused Israel of “increasing its violations” of the ceasefire, including “murders, house demolitions, displacement of civilians, and restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid,” before calling on the international community to “take serious measures” to put an end to these actions.
However, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stressed that Israeli forces “will continue to act forcefully against any violations and against Hamas’ terrorist infrastructure in Gaza until the return of the last hostage and until Hamas’ capabilities are destroyed.”
Authorities in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, estimated the death toll at 70,125 and more than 171,000 wounded since the start of the Israeli offensive, which began after the attacks of October 7, 2023, a figure that includes 366 dead and 938 wounded since the ceasefire took effect.
