A 46-year-old woman from Pennsylvania, United States, was seriously injured after she was attacked by a coyote in front of her home in Claysville. Brandi Willard told WPXI Radio that the attack happened on November 21, when she went out to check on her dogs, which were hiding under the truck parked there. “Well, I’m going to get killed, that’s what I thought,” she said.

According to Brandy, when she circled the car, the animal immediately advanced, pressing her against the bodywork. She said she struggled to fend off her attacker, and described severe pain caused by the bites. “I twisted my hand like a pretzel trying to get it out of me… my whole body was burning,” he said.
Authorities are investigating the animal’s origin
Brandi was taken to Canonsburg Hospital with deep cuts to her face, arms, thighs and legs. The citizen believes that pinning her to the truck prevented it from overturning, which, according to her, would have increased the risk of death. After the attack, the victim received a rabies vaccination and explained to the vehicle that he would have to undergo several stages of vaccination in the coming days. He added: “They have to take a very thick needle and stick it into your wound twice… I have to come back after four days, and then after seven, 10 and 14 days.”
A ranger from the Pennsylvania Game Commission visited the home, but said it was not possible to confirm whether the attacker was a coyote, a wild dog or any other type of animal. However, Willard said he had no doubt: “I know what it is. I know what I saw… You can’t get it out of your head.”
According to a Facebook post by Brandi Willard herself, agents from the commission and the Department of Fish and Wildlife returned to the home to look for clues to help identify the animal. She added that she was advised not to leave him unless he was outside the house and in imminent danger.
Despite her injuries and her recovery process continuing, Brandy said she was relieved that she survived and that her dogs were not harmed. “I’m not letting you eat my dog. That’s not going to happen,” he declared.
