Malu Barbosa’s daughter Maria was born in October, about three months after Preta Gil’s death.
Malu Barbosa has shared details of his long-time friendship with Preta Gil, who died in July this year from bowel cancer. The businesswoman had chosen the singer to be the godmother of her daughter, Maria, born in October this year. With the departure of her friend, she decides to share the mission with people from the Gil family.
Malu revealed the decision during a chat with Instagram followers. The person responsible for baptizing little Maria will be Marina Morena, daughter of the heart of Gilberto Gil. “Preta will always be Maria’s godmother! She has decided (laughs). But in her absence, Marina Morena will baptize my daughter! She and Sol (granddaughter) will represent her in life!”, announced the businesswoman.
Maria is the result of Malu’s 19-year relationship with Paulo Henrique Ferreira. “We got married in 2013 and Preta was our bridesmaid,” he says.
Preta’s right-hand man in the most critical moments of the fight against cancer, Malu denied any romantic relationship with the artist. “No (we’re dating)! Our love is that of sisters. Lots of love,” he defines.
Malu also says that he contacted Preta through Bela Gil. “I met Bela first. After she went to live abroad, I got a little closer to Preta.”
