The clinical intervention was a request from Bolsonaro’s defense. The procedure was authorized on Tuesday 23 by the Minister of the Federal Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes. A medical examination carried out by the federal police confirmed the need for surgery.
According to forecasts, the former president will be removed from office within seven days. During his recovery, Moraes allowed his wife Michelle to remain as his companion. The minister also allowed children to have visits, in accordance with hospital regulations, while other requests must be authorized in advance by the Supreme Court.
