
A total of 890,985 people will be able to take part in the regional elections in Extremadura this Sunday, December 21st, of which 551,372 will be in the province of Badajoz and 339,613 in the province of Cáceres
Specifically, the Resident Voter Count (CER) amounts to 860,375 people, while the Resident Absentee Voter Count (CERA) includes 30,610 voters residing in 102 different countries.
This Sunday the polling stations will open at 9:00 a.m. for the first regional elections that Extremadura is conducting alone and will remain open until 8:00 p.m.
Elections in which Extremadurans will be able to choose between 21 candidates, 11 of them in Cáceres and 10 in Badajoz, for which 1,400 polling stations have been set up (904 in the province of Badajoz and 496 in the province of Cáceres).
For their part, the polling stations have a total of 13,836,425 ballot papers, 8,245,350 for the province of Badajoz and 5,591,075 for the province of Cáceres, as well as 1,332,815 envelopes.
On election day, 867 representatives of the administration will be present, including 493 from the province of Badajoz and 374 from Cáceres, and each of them will have a portable electronic device, a tablet, to be able to send the data from the polling station.

It should be noted that for this election day 21D, a website has been created at the address //resultados.elecciones2025.juntaex.es to find out how the process works. A quick and easy mobile application (app) called Elections 21D has also been created to be used on this day.
In order to report on how election day went, several information appearances are planned this Sunday, the first at 10:00 a.m., after the tables have been set up, and two participation previews at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and finally the release of preliminary results after the exam is completed, with the first data expected to be released around 9:30 p.m.
It should be noted that the counting of the CERA votes will take place together with the counting of the total vote and will take place on the fifth day after the vote by the Provincial Electoral Committees of Cáceres and Badajoz, i.e. on December 26th.
