The black truffle is one of the most popular products of European gastronomy, but it is rarely considered a reason to travel. Behind this recognizable aroma lie the countryside, winter and many hours of work. Every year, between November and March, provinces like Teruel and Soria become the scene of a type of travel that is gaining more and more followers: trufi tourism, a form of gastronomic tourism that invites you to discover the truffle from its origins.
The proposal is simple and, at the same time, very complete. During the harvest season it is possible to travel to rural areas to see how the truffle is searched underground with the help of trained dogs, learn why it is only harvested in winter and see how this product marks the local cuisine during these months. Added to all this are fairs, gastronomic days and activities designed to bring the black truffle closer to both curious people and gastronomy lovers.
