A 22-year-old woman was stabbed to death on Tuesday evening (16/12) at Complexo do Chapadão, in the northern zone of Rio de Janeiro. Julia Benette Rodrigues (featured photo) was killed, according to police, by her ex-boyfriend, within the community and in front of her own daughters. One of the children was also reportedly injured in the attack.
According to information collected by investigators, the relationship between Júlia and José Victor Leite Gustavo lasted approximately six months and was marked by recurring episodes of violence.
The night of the crime, witnesses say the man attacked the young woman with a knife in front of the girls.

After the murder, local residents attacked the suspect. He was rescued and remains hospitalized in police custody. Due to his state of health, he has not yet made a statement.
The Capital Police Station (DHC) reported that José Victor was arrested in the act and will be charged with femicide. The circumstances of the crime continue to be investigated, including the dynamics of the attack and the medical condition of the injured child.
Júlia’s body was sent to the Forensic Institute (IML) in central Rio. The funeral wake is planned for this Thursday morning (18), at the Irajá cemetery.
