Fighting against relegation in the Brazilian Primera Division, Internacional acted behind the scenes and changed the team’s technical leadership on Saturday (29/11). The club’s new coach is Abel Braga, a multiple champion with Colorado. In the first press conference, on Sunday (30/11), he made a homophobic statement.
“He was an athlete and I admired him a lot. Dali is like a little ant, he is everywhere on the pitch. I told a joke, he made fun of everyone. “I said I don’t want my fucking team to train in pink shirts, it looks like a gay team.”. He actually said: “I already said you have to take this shirt off,” Abel Braga said.

International has not yet commented on the case. Previously, former Colorado coach Ramon Diaz was also involved in the controversy. He made sexist comments after a draw with Bahia in the 33rd round of the Brazilian championship.
Now, under Abel Braga, Internacional will have two games to play in a bid to remain in the elite of Brazilian football. On Wednesday (12/3), Colorado travels to the capital, Sao Paulo, to face Sao Paulo, at eight in the evening. On Sunday (7/12), Inter host Bragantino at Beira Rio, at 4pm.
