In a press release, the entity declared that “it will take three legal and institutional initiatives against the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta, in relation to the violence committed by the Legislative Police, during Tuesday’s session, against journalists, parliamentarians and employees of the Chamber and against freedom of the press.”
Among the planned initiatives are:
- representation before the Office of the Attorney General for tort, for interference in the exercise of freedom of the press and expression;
- international report to the Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression of the OAS Inter-American Commission on Human Rights; And

Confusion
The confusion began after federal deputy Glauber Braga (PSol-RJ) occupied the board to protest the vote on the impeachment procedure, scheduled for this Wednesday. In response, Motta ordered agents of the Legislative Police Department (Depol) to forcibly expel the parliamentarian.
Before taking action against the deputy, the Speaker of the House also ordered the expulsion of journalists and employees from the plenary and ordered the interruption of official broadcasts from the House.
