The abstention rate during the second phase of the second edition of the Unified National Public Competition (CPNU2), known as “Enem dos Concursos”, organized this Sunday (7), fell to 20% – during the tests of the first phase, the rate recorded was 40% -, declared the Minister of Management, Esther Dweck.
“Today, 8,500 people did not attend the oral expression tests. This forecast is something expected, but it was much lower than the absences of the first phase, an abstention lower than that of the CPNU1 and the competitions on average. We are very happy”, declared the minister during a press conference.
The highest abstention rate was recorded in Acre (27%) and the lowest in DF (15%). This Sunday, the discursive tests were administered, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Brasilia time, and the doors were closed at 12:30 p.m.
According to Esther, in general, the tests carried out today went well, without serious complications. A total of 42,499 candidates were classified to take the elocution tests today in 228 municipalities. On March 16, the final list will be announced and those approved will be announced to start training courses or take up their duties based on vacancies.
The preliminary result of the discursive test will be published on January 23. And on February 20, the first list of competition winners will be published. According to the minister, there will be three calls in this edition. In the first edition of “Enem dos Concursos”, organized last year, only the training tests had three calls. “But this time we are going to do it for all vacant positions,” the minister said.
The minister also predicted that although Congress has not yet approved next year’s budget, it is possible that the government will allow more vacancies for federal competitions in 2026. And the idea is that in the future, the CPNU will be the only type of public competition for federal positions.
“In our opinion, there should be (CPNU) at least every two years. But I still consider the Itamaraty model as ideal: few people always enter each year and that is very good for the public service. Every time there is a pension reform, there is an acceleration of retirements and many people leave in 2019. In our opinion, the competitions should be more recurrent,” added the minister.
