In the Vega de Antequerawhere the landscape opens into a serene succession of olive trees, pale stones and wide horizons, was born Acilia, the new extra virgin olive oil from Cortijo de Pozoancho promoted by Paco Garcíakey character in … promotion of the product of Malaga haute cuisine. It is not an oil like the others and it does not pretend to be: Acilia is a story in a bottle, a tribute to the territory and to memory, a way of understanding the origin as something alive and full of meaning.
The name refers to Acilia Plecusaa true woman from Roman Baetica whose story – documented by inscriptions and whose mausoleum can be visited today and reproduced in the Antequera museum – is as exceptional as it is symbolic. Born a slave near Singilia Barba, Acilia managed to rise to become an influential matron and respected in second century society. His life, marked by resilience and conquered dignity, serves here as a metaphor for a the oil that defends the earthtime and patient work.
Olives of the Hojiblanca variety with which the oil is made
A landscape with memory, an oil with identity
Acilia born in Cortijo de Pozoanchoa farm with centuries of history where the olive grove has been recovered through conscious, slow and precise agriculture. Each campaign is the result of listening to the field and following its rhythms, without forcing them. The result is a monovarietal EVOO hojiblanca which clearly expresses the character of Antequera: intense green fruitiness, clean notes of olive leaf and freshly cut grassa soft and silky entry into the mouth which evolves towards an elegant and persistent spiciness, with a balanced and very pleasant final bitterness. A harmonious, long-lasting and exciting oil, designed to last.
Behind the project lies the vision of Paco Garcia, who, at the head of El Lago (Marbella), was a pioneer in introducing local products into Malaga haute cuisine and in consolidating a close relationship between cuisine and the territory. After completing this step and developing Calma, your high-end fruit and vegetable project In terms of hospitality, García is now going further by becoming directly involved in agricultural production. Acilia is, in this sense, the natural consequence of a coherent journey: quality from the start, respect for the environment and commitment to those who work the land.
A heritage reflected in every bottle
Like the woman who gave her her name, Acilia does not simply exist: she rises. It is an oil that speaks of the past without nostalgia and the future without artifice, Designed for restaurants, specialty stores and extra virgin lovers who are looking for more than just an impeccable sensory profile. Limited production, gourmet formats and an honest story accompany this EVOO which understands gastronomy as culture and memory.
In Acilia, history is not an ornament, it is a root. And from this root, deeply native to Antequera, this oil is projected like a new benchmark for those who believe that true luxury is at the origin well told and better cared for.
