Actor Héctor Alterio has died at the age of 96, according to his family in a press release released by Pentacion Espectáculos. Of Spanish-Argentinian nationality, and still active, he now has a long career in theater, cinema and television. He is one of the most remarkable artists of his generation, also father of the actors Malena and Ernesto Alterio.
“It is with deep pain that we wish to communicate that today, December 13 in the morning, Héctor Alterio left us. He left in peace after a long and full life dedicated to his family and to art, being active professionally until today. Rest in peace”, assures the press release.
Héctor Alterio attended the scenes when he was very young and continued there until the end of his life, with a turn with the text A little storywith autobiographical tones. He settled in Spain in 1975, when he had to abandon Argentina – he was born into a family of Neapolitan emigrants – because of death threats, from where he had to win the love and applause of the public.
