
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) updated this Saturday the special warning of heavy rains, winds and waves in the Canary Islands, as well as in the south and east of the peninsula, caused by the storm Emilia and warned that this Sunday it is expected that The precipitation will be intense, very heavy and locally torrential in Valencia.
This was reported through a statement in which he also assured that the instability in the Canary Islands will tend to flow from east to west and the wind will subside, although the precipitation could still continue with less intensity, thus putting an end to this episode of unfavorable phenomena in the archipelago.
On the other hand, from this Sunday, an increase in instability is expected in the Mediterranean area, with precipitation that could cause significant regularizations in several areas of the Eastern Peninsula and Alborán.
Alongside the predominance of moist easterly winds at low levels, there will be persistent rain accompanied by thunderstorms. They will occur in points in eastern Andalusia, southeast of Castilla-La Mancha and Murcia, where 80 to 100 millimeters (mm) will be exceeded in 12 hours, and in the province of Valencia, where more than 180 mm could accumulate locally in 12 hours.
This episode will continue in the early hours of next Monday. Precisely, on Monday, heavy or very strong rains and storms will also extend to the west of Alborán, to Catalonia and, above all, to Castellón, where accumulated precipitation they should exceed 80-100 mm in 12 hours.
Additionally, the passage of a frontal system will bring precipitation that will affect much of the peninsula, although Aemet expects the largest accumulated in the mentioned areas. From next Tuesday, we will witness a new Atlantic disturbance which will cause intense precipitation in the Mediterranean area. This, combined with the passage of the front that began the day before, will once again cause precipitation to spread over a large part of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands.

The Department of Emergencies and Interior, through the Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat Valenciana (CCE), informs of the issuance of the a special warning that warns of the arrival of precipitation it can be intense, accompanied by storms, in the Valencian Community.
