
A 42-year-old man was caught red-handed last Sunday morning (30/11), after throwing alcohol and setting fire to the face of his 45-year-old partner, in the Oasis neighborhood, in Itanheim, on the southern coast of São Paulo.
According to the Public Security Secretariat, the victim was transferred to the emergency care unit and the police unit, where he said that the attack he was subjected to was intentional. However, the attacker claimed it was just an accident.

The case was reported by state Rep. Solange Freitas (UN). The delegate in charge of the case, Damiana Shibata Rykiel, from the Women’s Defense Police Station, told the parliamentarian that the two were arguing when he set her on fire at some point.
According to the representative, the man already had a history of domestic violence against another partner and was caught red-handed. The arrest was later transferred to pretrial detention. According to the Public Prosecution, the arrest was also supported by a medical certificate.
The case was registered as attempted femicide and domestic violence at Itanheim Police Station.
