Miguel Licht is a lawyer and has headed the National Tax Court since 2021. He was one of the voices that publicly defended Milei in the Libra case and was recently mentioned as a presidential candidate for a position on the Supreme Court.
Maybe to support this candidacy, or because of an academic appeal he just submitted a long and ambitious bookin two volumes, on the interpretation of laws in the current technological and social context, with the contribution of the Talmud, one of the fundamental texts of Judaism.
Everything went well with the presentation, but it made headlines last week because other lawyers (perhaps Licht’s legal rivals) pointed it out on social media the work is “full of made-up data”. They even cite books by court judges who never existed.
When I look at the citation list of a book on legal interpretation, without going into too much depth, I notice that it is full of made-up books and articles that even their authors don’t know. This is beyond blackmail. Is it a fiction book or write it with the lights off (in German).

Almost instantly, Licht acknowledged the fact. He wrote this on the networks “The sloppiness, the haste and an unfortunate intervention by the AI could have played a trick on me.” Although he defended his “intellectual honesty” and said that “it is always ungrateful to discredit the efforts of others.”
Doctor, thank you for your engagement in reading and for taking the trouble to point out what you saw. In certain cases, the AI’s sloppiness, haste, and even unfortunate intervention could play tricks on me. As an example, I recognize a quote from… https://t.co/W9g26cq3ju

Among the critics, many emphasized “blackmail” through the use of AI, But few realized that the problem lay not so much in the use of AI as in it the way light used the toolCopy and paste and without detailed checking. What it shows lack of knowledge about how it works.
Generative AI is nothing more than a computer system built with Neural networks: Algorithms inspired by the human brain and trained with tons of information.
Because of the way it is designed, It has a creative tendency. There will always be an answer by connecting the data. But it is like that a probability machine: the answer you gave It won’t necessarily be the truth.but most likely according to the instruction given and the information used to train. And we have to see what instruction Licht gave in this case.
Such a “thinking brain” can – in a creative task – serve to contrast concepts, expand perspectives, initiate ideas, but never having it as a cheap ghostwriter.
AI is very bad at this role because of its creative focus and desire to provide an answer causes her to make all sorts of mistakes. For example, the invention of a book by Horacio Rosatti, whose publisher and publication date never existed.
This case raises questions AI competence of leadership and shows the need for more digital education for the entire population.
If used correctly, AI has enormous potential. AND also misused, but to cause disasters.
