The mayor of Algeciras and senator, José Ignacio Landaluce, announced his temporary suspension of PP activism to defend his honor against the complaint filed by the PSOE before the Supreme Court for alleged crimes of embezzlement, influence peddling and sexual harassment or abuse.
Thus, he indicated that he was resigning from his organic functions, but does not resign from its institutional functions as mayor of the city and as senator.
On a note, Landaluce reiterated his “absolute innocence” and reaffirmed its “determination to continue to exercise its right to defense with all legal means at its disposal”.
In this sense, he declared that he was “harassed, used and persecuted” for the PSOE and declared that he will not allow “anyone to try to silence him to defend his honor.”
