Amper, through its subsidiary Elinsa do Brasil, has won a 130 million euro contract with the Equatorial Group of Brazil to provide power grid modernization and expansion services in the central-western region of the Brazilian state of Pará, the company said in a statement on Friday.
This is an Âncora contract (“anchor contract”), a name used in the country for major projects that guarantee significant investments and improvements in the distribution and electricity supply infrastructure of a region.
The contract, one of the largest in the company’s history, has an initial term of four years and an amount of over 840 million Brazilian reais (around 130 million euros). In addition, an extension option for a further four years is being considered, so the final amount could be significantly higher.
The implementation of the project involves the employment of new professionals at Elinsa do Brasil who will be responsible for the management and operation of electricity plants and infrastructure in a region with high operational complexity. These teams will serve 29 communities from four operational locations.
In line with Equatorial’s requirements, Elinsa do Brasil immediately began preparatory transition activities, which include mobilization planning, operational coordination with Equatorial teams, identification of resources, bases and equipment, and preparation of the schedule for the start of operations.
This project represents an important logistical and infrastructural challenge that will be addressed in line with the premises of Amper and Elinsa’s corporate culture: the safety of people as an absolute priority, the commitment and involvement of the teams in the services provided – promoting a culture of responsibility and pride of belonging – and customer satisfaction through an effective deployment of new networks that guarantee the continuity and quality of electricity supply.
The award recognizes Elinsa do Brasil’s track record, operational performance and technical strength, as well as Equatorial Group’s confidence in its performance, which has been demonstrated throughout the collaboration between both organizations.
This agreement strengthens Amper Group’s industrial and operational presence in Brazil and consolidates its position as a leading strategic partner in the Latin American energy sector.
