Madrid, December 12 (EFE). – An Atlantic front will bring cloudy skies across most of the peninsula this Friday, with persistent rain in places such as Huelva, the Strait and Malaga, while the Canary Islands will experience very strong wind gusts from the north.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has indicated that the rainfall will affect the western half and is likely to occur on the eastern facade, while the largest accumulations will occur in the far west and will most likely also occur on the Galician Atlantic facade.
The front will not reach the Balearic Islands, where cloudy skies are expected and occasional showers may occur. However, it will affect the Canary Islands, where the sky will be cloudy and there will be rainfall that could be persistent in the north of the mountainous islands. These will arrive in the form of snow in the mountains of the northwest quadrant of the peninsula at an altitude of around 1,500/1,800 meters and in the Canary Islands above 2,000 meters.
Morning fog banks are also expected in the Ebro, in the southeastern interior of the peninsula, on the Balearic Islands and in areas of the Mediterranean off-shore area, and frontal fog is also expected in the western third of the peninsula.
Maximum temperatures will decrease, generally low in the Balearic Islands, in the eastern half of the peninsula and in the autonomous cities, while in the western half of the peninsula, in the Segura area and on the Catalan coast, an increase in minimum temperatures will prevail, with decreases in the eastern Canary Islands and the eastern Cantabrian Sea.
