Something as routine as visiting a supermarket can become an extraordinary event for those who are not used to it. This is what happened to one 87 year old Cuban woman when he first entered a Mercadona in Spain. The old woman could not contain her emotion or her tears upon seeing such a variety of products, a moment that was captured by her grandson and which has already gone viral on social networks.
Several videos show the woman, very smiling, carefully observing the shelves with the different cakes and sweets from the bakery section, while asking a family member to take a photo to immortalize the moment.
“I see everything so cheap…” he comments, while continuing to carefully review all the products on the shelves. “In Cuba, they don’t exist, we don’t even see it as a lie“, he says.
His grandson Rumi shared the images on his TikTok channel, where he accumulates over 2.6 million views in several videos posted on the social network.
