A security camera installed in a room at the Provisional Detention Center (CDP) of Caraguatatuba, on the coast of São Paulo (SP), captured the moment when detainee Maiky Entonny Venancio França escaped through a “gap” used to smuggle food.
Footage shows the escape happened around 5:30 a.m. last Thursday (12/11). According to the Union of Criminal Police Officers of the State of São Paulo (Sinppenal), the inmate was carrying out internal work in the unit and managed to escape while cleaning the area without the supervision of prison officers.

Arrested for murder
Maiky is responsible for a murder committed in Franca, in the interior of São Paulo. He joined the CDP on February 28 this year, from Ilhabela.
According to a complaint from the Minas Gerais Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPMG), the man shot and killed one person and injured another during a party in 2023.
