Paris Saint-Germain’s Dembélé named best player in the world in 2025
The best of FIFA was held this Tuesday 16. The ceremony took place in Doha, Qatar, on the eve of the Intercontinental Cup final between Flamengo and Paris Saint-Germain.
Dembélé, the PSG striker, was crowned the best player in the world in 2025. The organization’s awards, in addition to the popular vote, take into account the choices of the countries’ national team captains, coaches and journalists.
Brazil’s representatives in the vote were defender Marquinhos and coach Carlo Ancelotti and journalist Carlos Eduardo Mansur, from Grupo Globo.
Marquinhos and Ancelotti had similar opinions on the price. Both considered Dembélé to be the best in the world in 2025. They also agreed by placing Barcelona’s Raphinha in the second nomination.
The Barça athlete, however, was not part of the team of the year announced by FIFA during the awards ceremony. He finished the voting in fifth place.
The votes of Marquinhos and Carlo Ancelotti were different for the third choice. The defender pointed to Hakimi, of Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian coach chose striker Mbappé, from Real Madrid.
The FIFA men’s team consisted of: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Willian Pacho, Van Dijk, Nuno Mendes; Cole Palmer, Bellingham, Vitinha and Pedri; Lamine Yamal and Dembélé.
