The operation to free MP Glauber Braga (PSOL-RJ) from dismissal included calls from the Special Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs of the Ministry of Institutional Relations, André Ceciliano, to MPs from the lower clergy.
According to reports and messages to which the column had access, Ceciliano said that Planalto would take control of the committees during the 2026 electoral year to prevent the 12 billion reais in amendments that the collegiates can allocate from being used by parliamentarians who vote against the interests of the government.
MPs told the Chronicle that they were “thoughtful” about the speech, interpreted as a message about future control of these funds.
The column reveals that House leaders responded and asked Ceciliano to question the government’s involvement in an internal conflict within the House, warning him not to use the amendments as a form of pressure.

After the negative repercussions, Ceciliano returned to MPs, saying he had acted as a politician and not on behalf of the government and demanding they clear up the “misunderstanding”.
The government base managed to prevent Glauber’s dismissal, which until yesterday was taken for granted. He was punished with a suspension of his mandate for six months.
Glauber was accused of violating parliamentary decorum by expelling Free Brazil Movement (MBL) activist Gabriel Costenaro from the House in April 2024. The psoloist justified that Costenaro had offended his mother, Saudade Braga, now deceased and former mayor of Nova Friburgo (RJ).
