Reason: the agency’s technical department is revising its opinion on the Italian company’s performance, at the request of director Gentil Nogueira de Sá Junior — the new report will include the events that occurred this month, which led to thousands of homes without electricity. If the evaluation, which will be given to the board of directors during the last week of January, indicates that Enel has not improved its performance compared to last year, the expiration date will have to be declared.
The previous assessment had practically prevented the declaration of expiration, which would lead to the archiving of the process. This is why, according to what Gentil Nogueira declared to his interlocutors, the request for an opinion was formulated by him.
