Nearly four years ago, Anita went through a turning point in her personal and professional life. As he ventured into the international market, he built new relationships, deepened conversations about faith and immersed himself in wellness practices. A new Anita emerged there, and Max Tovar, her shaman and cosmic healer, became a central figure in this change.
This partnership gained new milestones with the book Musculatura da Alma, released on November 28. Anita appears in it as Larissa to sign the introduction, a choice that, according to her, is part of the process of taking the public persona out of the picture and participating in the project without the filter of her career.
“The book and reflections are not an artistic project. It’s not Anita there. It’s me, Larissa. I’m constantly learning and changing. I’m very open with my audience and I like to share a lot of things with them. The book and reflections are proof of that.”
When the charging process starts
In an exclusive interview with this writer from CapitalsAnita said that the operation greatly affected her routine and required confrontations that, in her opinion, do not usually occur. The singer explained that going through this stage (and the entire process) means reviewing connections and patterns that, although familiar, no longer make sense in her life.
“The hardest part was letting go of things and people that I knew were of no use to me, but for reasons of habit or lack of clarity in being able to process what was happening around me, I kept at it. Just because something hurts us doesn’t mean we know exactly what to do to put an end to it. So, it should be easier, right? But it’s not always the case. In fact, I think it’s not the case most of the time. Taking the first step toward change can be very difficult. It’s difficult, and it generates a lot of fear and insecurity. But we need it if we really want to change our lives.
Time things
Anita also commented that part of this phase is about confronting facts that, according to her, do not usually emerge when the agenda revolves around results and performance. The singer explained that looking inward requires confronting her own relationship with expectations: her own and those she believes she needs to meet.
“I think it was about accepting that everything has its own time to happen. For me, who had been so focused for a few years on results, on success, achieving something, getting something, breaking records… it was a little scary. When I realized that, I was also able to free myself from the expectations that I placed on others and also those that I felt I had to achieve. I am very grateful for everything I have achieved, but also for the new reflections and stages in my life.”
Between the artist and the person
Speaking about the repercussions of this new phase, Anita commented that the public’s curiosity did not generate a feeling of insecurity about the possible effects on the “pop star” image. For her, her career has always been marked by changes, experiences and choices that did not always follow the expected path. Sometimes like Anita, sometimes like Larissa.
“I’ve never felt so afraid! I’ve done so much, my career reflects that so much and my fans really understand who I am. I feel like I’ve always been very open to new things and allowing myself to try things I’ve never done before.”
