British boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a car accident in Nigeria on Monday that killed two people.
The accident, which occurred on a busy stretch of the Lagos-Ibadan highway, occurred at around 11am local time. According to a report, Joshua suffered minor injuries and two people were killed. Joshua was driving a Lexus pickup truck when the vehicle collided with a parked truck. He was among four passengers in the vehicle while his security guards were in another car.

The images show Joshua shirtless, looking dazed at the scene and in pain. Several people help him get up from the back seat. Other images show two bodies scattered on the street. The boxer is a two-time IBF heavyweight world champion, WBA super champion, IBO champion and WBO champion.
A witness told Punch newspaper: “It was a convoy of two vehicles: a Lexus van and a Pajero van. Joshua was sitting behind the driver, with another person next to him. There was also a passenger next to the driver, so there were a total of four occupants in the crashed Lexus. His security team was in the vehicle behind them before the accident.” He added, “Other witnesses and I began the rescue and signaled to approaching vehicles for help. Federal Road Safety Corps agents arrived within minutes of the accident.”
Before the accident, Joshua posted a video of himself playing table tennis on Instagram. The episode came days after Joshua knocked out YouTuber and former boxer Jake Paul in Miami. Joshua broke Paul’s jaw in two places in a fight watched by more than 30 million people on Netflix.
