The National Commission against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport has proposed a fine of 30,000 euros to Real Betis for non-compliance with security and access control measures in training courses open to the public. … public before the derby since in the stands of the Chartreux Stadium Flares appeared, “elements prohibited due to the serious risk they pose to the safety of citizens.”
During training at La Cartuja, Betis hosted around 10,000 fans who sang and encouraged their players in the hours before the match at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, which ended with Verdiblanco winning 0-2, thanks to goals from Fornals and Altimira.
Sevilla were sanctioned for the same reason with 10,000 euros more and Antiviolencia justified it because the difference “lies in the volume of the smoke canisters”, as the press release indicates.
This is not the first time that Betis has received a proposal for a sanction of this style given that last season it was 90,000 euros for training before the March derby justifying this sanction for “the failure to implement access control measures”, for “the activation of numerous smoke devices” and for “the display of large banners”.
