MADRID, December 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Hundreds of residents of the town of Yafo, located near Tel Aviv, demonstrated this Saturday against an attack perpetrated by a group of Jews who pepper sprayed an Arab-Israeli woman in the town.
The woman was attacked while driving a car in the Ayami neighborhood, according to Israeli press. The woman was also allegedly insulted.
“Tell the dogs of the Shin Bet that we are not afraid of conflict,” protesters chanted as they marched towards the scene of the attack, according to the Arab48 news portal.
The leader of the Arab-Israeli Balad party Sami Abu Shehadé accused the Israeli government of complicity in the attack. “This is not an isolated incident, but a new episode of systematic policy against the people of Yafo and our Palestinian nation as a whole,” he denounced. “Official silence is complicity in this crime,” he said.
Police confirmed a woman was attacked with pepper spray during an argument and noted she was admitted to hospital to receive medical treatment. So far, there have been no arrests.
