He Argentine Foreign Ministry released a statement on Sunday condemning the attack, which took place earlier on a popular beach in Australia where the Jewish community was celebrating Hanukkah.
“The Argentine Republic strongly condemns the terrorist attack Carried out today in Sydney, Australia, which resulted in deaths and numerous injuries Act of violence against innocent civiliansparticularly against Jewish families who had gathered to celebrate Hanukkah,” said the official statement released this afternoon.
“The Argentine government expresses its condolences to the families of the victims and expresses its solidarity with the Australian people, especially the Jewish community, which is the target of this attack motivated by hatred and intolerance,” the letter continued.
Two gunmen shot dead at least eleven people this Sunday as they celebrated the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah on Bondi Beach, a popular Australian beach.
The massacre at one of Australia’s most popular and famous beaches followed a wave of anti-Semitic attacks that rocked the country last year, although authorities did not suggest those incidents were linked to today’s attack. This Sunday’s shooting is the deadliest shooting in nearly three decades in a country with strict gun control laws.

“Argentina reiterates this Anti-Semitism represents a serious threat to democratic coexistence and core values and reaffirms its unqualified condemnation of all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, regardless of motivation or place of occurrence,” the State Department statement continued.
“Our country renews its commitment to the protection of religious communities and their freedom of belief, as well as to international cooperation to prevent, combat and eradicate terrorism in all its manifestations,” concludes the official statement that Minister Pablo Quirno published shortly afterwards on his X account.
The attack was widely condemned around the world. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington strongly condemned the attack and that “anti-Semitism has no place in this world.”
Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the attack left him “speechless” and added: “This is an attack on our shared values. We must stop this anti-Semitism, here in Germany and around the world.”
For his part, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, was appalled. “On this first day of Hanukkah, a festival that celebrates the miracle of peace and light that conquers darkness, my heart goes out to the Jewish community around the world,” the official said.
