Videos recorded by pedestrians show the moment an army soldier shot dead a suspected thief on Enseada beach, Guarujá, this Saturday morning (6).
The images, shared on X (formerly Twitter), show Corporal Gustavo Pavão Gomes running after the man, who fled. The soldier fires several times into the air as the suspect runs. Moments later, the gunshots hit the boy, who fell into the sand and died moments later.
According to local press, the suspect is Anderson Alcides Alves de Oliveira, 37 years old. To police, the trooper reportedly said Anderson robbed him at gunpoint, taking a cell phone, watch and chain. According to the army, the suspect was carrying a knife.
THE Leaf discovered that Pavão lives in Itu, in the interior of São Paulo. Recently, he was honored by the city’s municipal council with the “Cradle of the Republic” medal, an award given to members of the security forces based in the municipality.
Among the videos circulating on social networks, it is possible to hear at least seven gunshots. Anderson had a criminal record for theft.
