Arrested in Valladolid after hitting and breaking a man’s knee to steal his cell phone

National Police officers arrested a man in Valladolid as the alleged perpetrator of violent theft and another of serious injury, after snatching another man’s cell phone and car keys and breaking his kneecap a kneeaccording to police sources.

This morning, around 5:15 a.m., National Police agents were instructed by room 091 to go to Granada Street in Valladolid, after receiving a warning from a pedestrian who warned of an attack in progress, as reported by Ep.

Upon arrival, officers located a man lying on the ground with a serious injury to his right knee and in severe pain, while another man was in the adjacent corner.

A young man, who witnessed the events, placed himself between them to prevent the continuation of the attack. The witness reported observing how a man violently hit the victim while demanding his wallet. When he is surprised, The attacker tried to justify the situation by claiming it was a fight.

The officers, after carrying out a cursory security search, found among the attacker’s belongings a smartphone, a credit card in his name and house keys.

Later, it was found that the phone belonged to the victim, who needed it to transport to the medical center. Likewise, the keys to a vehicle, also stolen, were found near the scene and returned to its owner.

The victim stated that as she was returning home, had been approached by the attacker. He hit him in the ribs with a stickthrowing him to the ground and continuing the attack to steal his personal belongings.

The officers ordered an ambulance that went to the scene and transported the injured person to the Río Hortega University Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a fracture of the patella of the right leg, with a serious prognosis.

The alleged perpetrator was arrested for one offense of theft with violence and intimidation and another for serious injury, and remained in police custody. Once the police report was completed, the inmate was released.
