The São Paulo Justice Court allowed Karen de Moura Tanaka Mori, known as Japa of the PCC, to spend the end-of-year holidays at her mother’s house in Santos, on the São Paulo coast. Investigated for money laundering by the faction, Karen has been incarcerated since February 2024.
According to the decision of the 2nd Court of Tax Offenses, Criminal Organization and Laundering of Assets and Capital Assets, she will be able to stay at her mother’s home from December 20 to January 5, however, all precautionary measures, such as the use of an ankle bracelet, must be respected.
Karen must stay home at night, on weekends and on holidays.
Japa, of the PCC, is the widow of former Wagner Ferreira da Silva faction leader Cabelo Duro, who was executed in 2018.

Karen de Moura Tanaka Mori was arrested on February 8 in the capital São Paulo. According to the investigation, she took over her husband’s business and played an important role in the CCP’s money laundering. Thanks to this, the police seized more than a million reais, in addition to 50,000 US dollars.
Police say Japa operated in Santos, Cubatão and Guarujá, on the coast and in the city of São Paulo. To launder the faction’s money, she allegedly used beauty businesses, real estate and a company owned by her brother. His father is also suspected of having participated in this scheme.
The investigation that led to the arrest of Cabelo Duro’s widow began in June 2023, in the town of Praia Grande. She was arrested in the eastern zone of São Paulo.
According to delegate Artur Dian, investigators reached the woman after detecting the financial movements of the CCP cell. “Financial information reports obtained by the Civil Police indicate that the suspect transferred millions of reais from the faction to hide the origin of the money from drug trafficking,” he said.
