The Seville City Council, through the Department of Urban Planning, announced the start this Monday 8 resurfacing work on Arroyo Streetmore precisely in the section between José Laguillo and Tharsis Street, with an investment of 200,000 … euros. These works come after the asphalt renewal works on Menéndez Pelayo Avenue were completed this Sunday.
The roadway improvement works in Arroyo will be carried out in three phases and during at night to cause minimal disruption to road traffic. This work is expected to last approximately five days, which is why the surface of Arroyo Street will be renewed from Friday, December 12.
On the occasion of the repaving of Arroyo Street, it is planned to carry out a total road closuresection rue José Laguillo – rue Tharsis, from December 8 to 12 from 10 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 6:00 a.m.
During the first phase, Joaquín Morales and Torres y Salesianos streets remain in the “fund of bag” of Jabugo street with access only to residents. The following alternative routes are established: María Auxiliadora, José Laguillo Avenue, Julian Besteiro roundabout, Esperanza de la Trinidad street and San Juan Bosco street. And also San Juan Bosco Street, Venice Street, Pérez Hervás Street, José Laguillo Avenue and María Auxiliadora.
In the second phase, Garci Fernández, Santa María and Niña streets are left at the “bottom of the bag”, with access reserved for residents. Antonio Martelo Square will remain open in both directions along San Juan Bosco Street.
In it they are activated as alternative routes: Arroyo/Salesianos street, Urquiza street, Esperanza de la Trinidad street, San Juan Bosco street and Carretera de Carmona. Samaniego Street, Jabugo Street, San Juan Bosco Street and Samaniego Street, Antonio Filpo Rojas Street, San Juan Bosco Street.
In the third phase, Guanahaní (de Argantonio) and Vicente Alanís (de Rafael Laffon) streets are left in the “fund of the bag”, with access only to residents. The alternative routes of Arroyo/Francisco de Ariño Street, Samaniego Street, Pueblo Saharaui Avenue, Carmen Martínez Sancho Street and Tharsis Street are established. Vicente Alanís Street, José María de Mena Street, Maestro Gómez Zarzuela Street and Francisco de Ariño Street.
For his part, the town planning delegate, Juan de la Rosastressed that these works are part of the “comprehensive program of works that we are carrying out throughout Seville to improve the quality of life of our neighbors and our city”.
De la Rosa also highlighted from this action that “with the installation of premium asphalt on Arroyo Street, one of the main arteries of the San Pablo-Santa Justa neighborhood, it will be possible to reduce noise and ensure the safety of drivers.”
Resurfacing in Menéndez Pelayo
On the other hand, the City Hall has completed the renovation of the asphalt of Avenida Menéndez Pelayo, with an investment of 240,000 euros. This action made it possible to carry out the development of 12,000 m2. In addition to the paving works, the works in Menéndez Pelayo included the elimination of the disused median which presented risks to road traffic safety, thus optimizing the functionality of this avenue.
The town planning delegate highlighted that “since this weekend, Menéndez Pelayo, a very important avenue in the city that connects different neighborhoods and facilitates access to the historic center and the Santa Justa train station, has a completely renovated asphalt which thus improves road and pedestrian traffic conditions.”
