Botafogo’s main reinforcement this season, Artur could leave. Hired to replace Luiz Henrique, number 7 played an important role in the home stretch of the year, but could leave at the next transfer window. After all, Alvinegro owes the player a debt and plans to negotiate with a Qatari club interested in signing him, according to “ge”.
Botafogo had no intention of negotiating with Artur, but the debt may have changed the decision. The player is part of manager Davide Ancelotti’s plans, but debt has become a problem. The Qatari club is therefore ready to assume the debt, which would be beneficial for all parties. This way, there is the possibility of leaving during the next transfer window.
However, Botafogo is still trying to resolve the story in another way to keep the striker next season. After all, Artur was an important player in the final stretch of 2025 and decisive for Alvinegro to secure a place in the preliminary phase of the Libertadores in 2026. The club believes in the evolution of the player, arriving to take the place of his idol Luiz Henrique.
Signed in January for 10 million euros (R$62 million) from Zenit of Russia, Artur scored eight goals and five assists in 48 games in his first season with Botafogo. In July, Alvinegro rejected a 15 million euro (98 million reais) proposal from Spartak Moscow of Russia.
