Bahia ended its season with a 2-0 defeat against Fluminense, at the Maracanã, in a match valid for the 38th day of the Brazilian Championship.
After the match, Rogério Ceni commented on the Tricolor’s year:
“The good thing is the two regional titles won this year. The experience in the group stage of the Libertadores and before the Libertadores was exceptional, especially thanks to the presence of the public. Unfortunately, we could not qualify among the top two of the group.
In the Copa do Brasil we suffered a very bad match and in the Brasileirão we fought until the last round to have the possibility of entering the top five.”said the Bahia coach.
Rogério Ceni also projected Bahia’s next season, acknowledging that the team needs to be more competitive, as the year will start early:
“We have to be more competitive in 2026, because it will be a year that starts in January and, in our case, February, with the pre-Libertadores interspersed with Brasileirão matches.
Before we had Baiano and Nordeste, which are competitions with a slightly lower technical level, but now we will have to strengthen our team, because we will have difficult midweek matches combined with midweek qualifiers.
The 2026 pre-Libertadores will be more complicated than this year.
