13 people lost their lives on the road in 11 fatal accidents registered from 3:00 p.m. on Friday until 8:00 p.m. this Monday, according to the provisional report from the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT).
Operation return of the Constitution and the Immaculate Bridge will last until midnight and at the moment traffic jams continue on the entry and exit roads from the main urban centers.
According to the DGT’s assessment, which does not include fatal accidents recorded in Catalonia, the Basque Country or in urban centers, the bridge’s most tragic day was Saturday, with six dead and five injured.
On Friday, two deaths and two injuries were recorded; Sunday, three dead and six injured; and this Monday, until 8 p.m., two deaths. All along the bridge, the DGT has deployed a special device to anticipate approximately 5.7 million road trips.
