
A new Russian attack on the city of Odessa left at least 8 dead and 27 injured after a bus and several vehicles were hit, according to the National Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian authorities indicated by Telegram that the Russian attack targeted a port area of the city, using ballistic missiles. The victims would be men aged 20 to 62, said the governor of Odessa. Oleg Kiper.
The injured, according to Kiper, were transferred to different hospital centers and he recounted the difficulties encountered by the emergency services due to the constant air alerts in the area after last night’s attack.
Odessa suffers from incessant airstrikes in recent weeks, there have been many of them in the port area, a situation on which the Russian authorities have not yet commented.
Negotiations with the United States continue
For his part, the Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Roustem Umerovannounced this Friday that the new consultations to be held this weekend in Miami on the war will have the presence of European security advisers, a novelty compared to other meetings in the United States.
“We thank the United States for the coordination that allows us to maintain a common vision and move forward in a coordinated manner,” the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine told X on Friday about the meeting to be held in Miami.
The inclusion of representatives is a novelty compared to this type of previous meetings on American soil, although they were already present at the meeting a few days ago in Berlin, the German capital, where the parties agreed to highlight the “many advances” that have been made.
Umerov stressed that they were engaged in “a constructive process” and indicated that the priorities of the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskythey will be on the table. “Ukraine’s security must be guaranteed reliably and in the long term,” he concluded.
This weekend’s meeting comes after the Russian president, Vladimir Putinagain emphasized this Friday that Zelensky is not prepared for a peaceful solution to the conflict and warned that everything now depends on kyiv and its partners. “The ball is in their court,” he said.
