
The crash of a small plane near Toluca International Airport (AIT), in the state of Mexico (center), left a provisional death toll of at least six deadState Civil Protection announced this Monday.
In a publication on social networks, Civil Protection notified the “preliminary” toll of six deaths in the accident suffered by a private jet registered XA-PRO, which left Acapulcoin the state of Guerrero (southwest), towards the city of Toluca, where the fatal accident occurred and which is 65 kilometers from the Mexican capital.
Authorities have not confirmed the identities of the fatal victims, but have reported the identities of those on board the said plane, eight were passengers and the other two were the crew.
For the moment, the causes of the plane crash are unknown, which caused a fire which is already controlled by the state emergency services, focused on carrying out cooling and evacuation works.
They participate in the operation firefightersas well as members of the State of Mexico Emergency Service, municipal security officers or members of the National Guard.
Although the fire is under control, authorities have urged people not to approach the area and stay informed through official channels.
