The recent drone attack on the city of Rostov created an emergency situation both for the crew of an affected ship, in which two people died and three were injured, and for the rescue teams deployed, who managed to bring the fire that broke out on board shortly after impact under control. According to Europa Press, this incident was part of a series of explosions attributed to the Ukrainian army that reached several points in the Rostov region. At least three people were killed and almost a dozen were injured.
According to the Europa Press report, the greatest damage during the wave of unmanned aerial vehicle attacks in southwestern Russia was concentrated in the cities of Bataysk, Taganrog and Rostov, all located around the Black Sea. Among the injured, three patients remain in hospital in Taganrog as they were deemed serious after the drone flyby. Local hospitals and health services maintain special operations to provide medical care to the injured and to provide follow-up care and logistical support to victims’ families.
In Bataysk, one person was confirmed dead and at least four people were injured in the latest clashes, Europa Press reported. Rostov Governor Yuri Sliusar said in statements published by the same media that serious cases were referred to regional hospitals and that surveillance in the region was intensified to prevent new emergencies. Local authorities led by Sliusar said emergency teams remain in the area to provide support and contain the material and human consequences of the attacks.
Europa Press explained that given the recurrence of these attacks and the threat of new events, the Rostov Region has strengthened its security protocols. Authorities have stepped up surveillance and protection of strategic assets, particularly in areas near the Black Sea, as they consider them to be particularly vulnerable in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
