At least three people died and a dozen were injured in a series of attacks carried out by the Ukrainian army against several towns in the Russian region of Rostov, in the southwest of the country, as reported by Russian authorities on Thursday.
The region’s governor, Yuri Sliusar, said in a message on his Telegram account that the drone attacks were concentrated in the cities of Bataisk, Taganrog and Rostov, all located a short distance from the Black Sea.
In the town of the same name, two crew members of a cargo ship died and three were injured in an attack that caused damage to the ship. “The attack caused a fire which was quickly extinguished by emergency services,” he said.
In Bataysk, one person was killed and four people were injured by a Ukrainian attack. Meanwhile, seven other people were injured, three of whom were hospitalized at an area medical center.
“I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims. I hope that the injured will recover as quickly as possible,” said Sliusar, who assured that “assistance” would be offered to those affected.
