At least two people died and eight were seriously injured after a shooting that occurred this Saturday on the campus of Brown Universityas reported by Brett Smiley, the mayor of Providence (Rhode Island), the city where the university is located.
Until now The shooter was not captured. and the police are continuing the search, reported the city councilor.
The suspect is a man who, at the time of the shooting, was wearing blackor, as the local police chief pointed out.

Brown University issued its first alert to students about an active shooter at 4:22 p.m., without providing further details. Shortly after, he indicated that there was a detainee, but he corrected this information a few minutes later: “Continue to protect yourself. (…) Police have no suspects in custody. and the search continues.”
The incident occurred in Barus and Holley Buildingwhere the School of Engineering and the Department of Physics are located. The building has 117 laboratories, 150 offices, 15 classrooms and 29 conference rooms. The event occurred in the middle of final exams, a week before the end of the semester.
The President of the United States, Donald Trumpreported that FBI agents had been deployed to the area to support local agencies.
For his part, the vice-president, J.D. Vancesaid he was monitoring the situation and asked for prayers for the victims.
According to a CNN analysis, this year there were more than 70 shootings in academic establishments.
