Local authorities in Sydney, Australia reported that The victims of the attack during a celebration of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah this Sunday (14/12) on Bondi Beach were aged between 10 and 87 years old. The shooting started 16 dead and at least 42 injuredincluding two police officers.
The two suspects are father and son. The father, aged 50, was killed by the police. The 24-year-old son was detained in critical condition and, according to local media, his clinical condition is stable.
According to police, the oldest suspect had a license to possess six weapons and those used in the attack were captured by security forces. None of them had a criminal record.

At a press conference, New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon described the event as a “terrorist incident”. The officer ruled out the possibility that a third suspect was involved in the attack.
The injured, including two police officers, were transported to several hospitals in Sydney.

Among the dead is Rabbi Eli Schlanger, 41.born in London, British newspapers The Guardian and BBC News reported. An Israeli also died in the attack.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also described the attack as “terrorism” and assured that it would eradicate “hate, violence and terrorism”.
Australian authorities have yet to officially confirm that the attack specifically targeted the Jewish community, but the head of the Jewish Association of Australia called it an “entirely predictable tragedy.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) stated that: So far there is no information about Brazilians among the victims.
Unarmed civilian shooter
Images posted on social networks show the youngest suspect disarmed by a man while he was shooting at the population.
In the footage, one of the shooters can be seen holding a rifle and firing shots. Then a man in a white coat grabs him and takes the gun. After disarming the shooter, the man points the gun at him.

The man soon leaves the gun leaning against a tree, while the shooter begins to walk away. At one point in the video, another pedestrian appears and throws a rock at the suspect, who runs away.
The footage also shows the second suspect shooting from a bridge.
The international press also reported that the man who disarmed the suspect was shot and injured.
