The president of the Madrid region, Isabel Diaz Ayusotook stock of the year this Wednesday at Royal Post Officetwo days after doing it Pedro Sanchez at the Palacio de la Moncloa, and a few hours before … that the Assembly opens the final debate on the third Budgets of the Community of Madrid of the legislature, contrary to the paralysis of the Government of the Nation. Ayuso accused Pedro Sánchez of being “obsessed” with Madrid, a region he “punishes”, despite being Spain’s economic engine “on its own merits” and improving public services across the country, as he touted. With Sánchez in power, Ayuso was categorical in predicting a “very dark future” in 2026 for the government and for all of Spain.
During the press conference, the Minister of Transport, Jorge Rodrigo, reappeared, in very good shape, after having been absent due to illness since last September. With his entire team of advisors in the front row, Ayuso stressed that the last Governing Council will take place next week and that his team will work throughout Christmas. “We are a non-conformist, passionate government that works with rigor and honor. Who is responsible and dawns every day with the greatest enthusiasm. We are a strange government in these times, because it carries out its program and approves the budgets,” commented Ayuso ironically, recalling that more than 97 percent of the PP’s electoral program has already been carried out or is in progress.
Ayuso reviewed some characteristics with which he defined his “strange” regional government: “It executes its electoral program, approves budgets, meets with opposition groups, holds press conferences without choosing which media to respond to, organizes every year the debate on the state of the region, does not encourage the boycott of events of public interest, does not spend what it does not have, is austere in its size and public structure, has concrete plans for the future, maintains its newspaper archives without change of opinion.
“It is a government that counterbalances the policies of the government of the nation,” Ayuso stressed. “All this work becomes very complicated when you have Sánchez and his partners in front of you. “There are 22 ministers who try every day to destroy the work we do and to discredit the work carried out for the citizens of the Community of Madrid.” And he added, he said, the Government Delegation, “which is dedicated every day to attacking the Community of Madrid and the interests of the Madrid people.”
“We are the economic engine of Spain on our own merits, we are the economy that elevates the public services of the rest of Spain. A rich region with a very austere administration,” he stressed. “If Madrid does well, all of Spain does better. The attacks were daily. Today there was another one. The president, every time he has the opportunity, takes the opportunity to discredit the work of the Community of Madrid, in a clear obsession,” he denounced. “It is very profitable for their partners to have a very weak government.” “We are going to have to pay 483 euros more to the people of Madrid to apologize to the nationalists and finance inappropriate competitions,” he accused.
“The Government owes us more than €10.5 billion for the provision of public services which it does not pay us. Non-payment due to dependency accumulates a debt of almost 2.5 billion”, he continued. In his accusations he also referred to RTVE, “to the direct service” of Sánchez with his “campaigns” against the Community of Madrid. “They only focus on Madrid, from morning to evening.” Also with the health model “they need Madrid not to work”, added Ayuso.
“Madrid is being punished,” said the president of the Madrid region, referring to obstacles, for example, in data centers and the energy capacity of this region. “It is the region to which the least European funds per capita have been allocated.” Ayuso said she could report a lot more problems, but she wasn’t going to continue: “Because they’ll strike five and I won’t eat.”
“We are an open, free, prosperous and humane region, committed to Spain, which advances without walls,” the regional president proudly declared. “A society that aspires to live in peace, a courageous, happy and mixed region, full of free people, who do not accept impositions.”
Summary of the main measures
The regional president reviewed the main measures of her government over the last year, council by council. In Education, he highlighted the limitation of screens in schools and the measure of open playgrounds, as well as the FP mentor, to help young people choose their professional path and their integration into the business world. He also highlighted that dance is being implemented in classrooms for the first time. It focused in particular on housing, “a challenge” throughout Europe, and on transport, with the upcoming reopening of the entire line 6 from next Saturday, December 20, or with the reform of line 7B after the nightmare for local residents.
And in Health he highlighted the pioneering treatments in the Community of Madrid and the fact that the waiting lists have further decreased and are the best in Spain, as he highlighted. In economic matters, he recalled the new bonus on inheritance and gift taxes between brothers, cousins and nephews. In his fight against bureaucracy, he boasted of having eliminated 210 regulations.
Ayuso recalled that this year, in his international agenda, he visited seven different places, in seven different trips: two to the United States and also to Ecuador, United Kingdom, Peru, France and Portugal.
