An 18-year-old app driver is being investigated for femicide after killing a trans woman, taking her body to a police station and being released by police after confessing to the crime. The case occurred on Saturday evening (6), in Luís Eduardo Magalhães, in the interior of Bahia.
According to police, the young man took the body of Rhianna Alves, also 18 years old, in the trunk of the car to the police station. On site, the police called Samu (Mobile Emergency Care Service), but she was already lifeless.
Bahia’s civil police say the suspect “was questioned and remains free, because he presented himself spontaneously at the police station and confessed to the crime.”
During his testimony, the suspect – whose name was not released – said he hired Rhianna for a sex scheme and that they were in the car when they started arguing. She allegedly threatened to denounce this meeting and denounce him for rape.
The driver later told police he delivered a “naked choke” blow to Rihanna, strangling her, in self-defense. According to him, the victim tried to take something out of the bag, which scared him.
He also said he went to the police station to ask for help, but Rihanna was already dead.
The young woman lived in Barreiras, a town located about 90 km from Luís Eduardo Magalhães.
The Luís Eduardo Magalhães territorial police station is investigating this matter.
